Amy Suardi is a writer of personal essay, poetry, and memoir. She supports others in their artistic endeavors, working one-on-one with people in all creative fields as a creativity coach. She also facilitates writing workshops, circles, and retreats.
Suardi grew up in Cincinnati, Ohio singing Donna Summer’s greatest hits and dreaming of Broadway theater. On weekends her family would drive their Chevy station wagon to the farm that has been in the family for six generations.

Ten years after studying Italian at Brown University, she married a man from Milan and together they have five children ranging in age from ten to 22. Suardi’s writing has appeared in Short Reads, River Teeth, Babble, the Brevity blog and she is the founder of the Frugal Mama blog. She lives with her family in Washington, D.C. where she loves growing pumpkins, riding rollercoasters, taking naps, and cuddling with her kittens.
